First Raku of 2022

“Raku” God helps a wonderful session again on Saturday 25 Feb. 2022.

Thanks to Hugh’s knowledge sharing and instructions for the productive raku day. We witnessed Hugh’s beautiful raku tiles and a big bowl turning out great. Donna A. tested her homemade glaze and the outcomes were stunning. What was even more fun that we found a good composition by combining Lorraine and Nicole’s pieces together! Sounds interesting?

We welcome our current members to join the future raku sessions. Please contact canterburypotters@gmail.com to include you in the mailing list of raku group, if you are interested.

About the Christmas Market 2021

Christmas Pottery Market was held on Sunday 5th December 2021. The weather was perfect and many visitors came out to find their love pieces. What will be better to see the stallholders’ smiles from good sales results?!

“This was my third time as a stallholder at the CPA Christmas market and I had a great time chatting with other potters and people interested in pottery. It was fantastic to meet people of all ages who are enthusiastic about handmade local pottery and hopefully a few of them are inspired to sign up for a class and make some of their own! A big thank you to the other stallholders and the organizer that made the market a success!” ~ Meredith Leutzinger

Guest Selector & Exhibitor – Workshop

Feedback from the workshop attendee, Pat Alexander

“Last weekend I had both the pleasure and privilege to do the workshop run by Tatyanna following on from her talk on Friday evening at CPA, where, by the way I discovered we had a multiple Supreme Award winner at W.O.W. in our mids.

But, getting back to the workshop Tatyanna had us thinking, rolling, brushing, cutting and throwing off the hump, all no means easy feat with 10 or so potters at differing levels of expertise.

We were exhausted but delighted by Sunday afternoon, coming away happily inspired after a thoroughly full on weekend of potting. Many thanks to Tatyanna for her humour patience and encouragement.”
